| We would like to welcome you to the 2016 "PLAY 4 TAY" tournament. This event had over 100 teams in 2015 and will be played on over 20 fields all across Rutherford County. This event has annually raised money and provided financial aid for families that have children suffering with cancer so we invite you to participate in this tournament for such a great cause.
INTRO USSSA rules will apply with some exceptions see below. Copies of birth certificates must be available for inspection. Team managers or representatives are to check in at least thirty minutes prior to the start of their first game. ROSTERS Rosters must be entered online prior to game time. FORMAT The 8U's will play on Saturday only with a format of one pool game followed by double elimination. *Teams will be seeded in bracket play via computerized blind draw. GAME TIME/RUN RULE Pool game times will be 60 minutes finish the batter and elimination games will be 60 minutes finish the inning. Elimination "IF" games will consist of a two inning shoot out. There will be a mercy rule in effect: (12/3 - 10/4 - 8/5). Pool games can end in a tie and elimination games must have a winner. TIE BREAKER RULE International tie breaker rules in affect. LINEUP/PLAYERS Teams can bat their lineup in pool play and bat up to 11 in bracket play (9 plus 2 AP). Teams are allowed 12 players in their lineup but only 11 can bat. USSSA uses AP/Flex rules. a. Courtesy Runners can be used for Pitcher and Catcher at every at bat b. Runners do not have to be tied to a player (pitcher or catcher) c. Runner must be a substitute first. If the team doesn’t have a substitute then it must be the last completed at bat. d. Courtesy runner must be used prior to the next pitch PRE GAME INFO Home team will be official scorekeeper. Home team will be decided by coin toss except for the Championship game where the undefeated team will have the option. Visiting team will manage scoreboard. REFUND/RAIN OUT POLICY No refunds will be issued once the schedule has been posted. If we have inclement weather the tournament director reserves the right to shorten game times or eliminate pool games in order to get the event in. PROTEST INFO Protest fee is $200 and is refundable only if the protest is upheld by the Tournament Director. All protests must be made prior to the next pitch! GAME BALLS Teams are responsible for game balls and any .47 core / 375 compression leather optic yellow softball ball will be fine. TEXT UPDATES In case of tournament updates or if inclement weather situations occur we will use our text system to contact the head coaches.
