TOURNAMENT RULES 1. USSSA rules will govern play with the following exceptions. 2. The international tiebreaker will be used beginning in the 8th inning or after the time limit has expired if necessary. (ALL GAMES) 3. There will be a 1 hour and 20 minute time limit (POOL PLAY) and 1 hour and 20 minute (BRACKET PLAY) 4. There will be a 10 run rule after three innings an 8 run rule after four innings a 6 run rule after five innings and a 4 run rule after 6 innings in (ALL GAMES). 5. There will be no infield prior to games. 6. Each team must provide one new USSSA stamped softball and one used USSSA stamped softball for each game. If you forget balls there will be softballs for sale at the complex. 7. In case of inclement weather check with the Tournament Director and/or Field Supervisor at your complex for further instructions. Once a game is underway officials will determine whether to continue or stop the game. If five innings have been completed it will count as an official game. 8. Home team will be decided by a coin toss at pre-game conference. 9. Ties in pool play will be decided by: a. Head to head competition if two teams are tied and they have played each other. b. If two teams are tied and have not played each other or more than two teams tied we will use the run differential between teams that are tied. We will ADD ALL runs scored in all games and SUBTRACT all runs allowed in all games to arrive at the differential. c. Coin toss. 10. Pairing in single or double elimination tournament is determined by team’s finish in pool play. (Example: B3 indicates team that finished 3rd in Pool B) 11. Home team will be the official scorebook. 12. Awards: Age group of 4 or more teams will receive Team Trophies to top 2 teams and Individual Awards. Age group of fewer than 4 teams will receive Team Trophies to top 2 teams and Individual Awards to 1st place team only. 13. YOUR ROSTER MUST BE COMPLETED ONLINE AND HAVE ALL SIGNATURES OF PLAYERS AND PARENTS AND SIGNED BY YOUR AREA DIRECTOR. IF YOUR TEAM IS FROM NEW MEXICO WE WILL HAVE SOMEONE TO SIGN YOUR ROSTER. IF YOUR TEAM IS FROM OUT OF STATE HAVE YOUR AREA DIRECTOR SIGN YOUR ROSTER BEFORE YOU ARRIVE. THIS MUST BE TURNED IN PRIOR TO FIRST POOL GAME ALONG WITH COACHES NAMES & CELL NUMBERS. BRING AN EXTRA COPY OF YOUR SIGNED ROSTER WITH THE COACHES CELL NUMBERS ON IT TO LEAVE WITH THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR. 14. SPEED UP RULES: After the 1st inning pitcher will have 3 warm-up pitches. After a putout ball may be thrown to 1 infielder then returned to the pitcher. No huddles unless Time Out has been granted. Teach your players to HUSTLE ON & OFF of the field and they will get in 1 or 2 more innings per game. 15. All uniforms will be worn in the manner they were designed and manufactured to be worn. 16. Good Sportsmanship is encouraged and tolerated poor sportsmanship will not be. 17. If any of your coaches players or fans are ejected from a game for any reason they must meet with Paul Kohman before they are allowed to return. He will tell you what consequences you face and for how long. This is a family environment and any inappropriate behavior will be dealt with so that it stays that way. Harassment of umpires or tournament personnel will not be tolerated if you have a problem call Paul Kohman – 249-0692. 18. Additional Rules for 10+ Under a. Pool Play Time limit no new inning will not start after 1 hour 15 minutes at 1 hour 25 minutes finish the batter and revert back to the last completed inning. Bracket play is no new inning after 1 hour and 15 minutes and must determine a winner. 19. Additional Rules for Cleveland High School Softball Fields a. All teams after the first round will warm up at the soccer fields by the concession/restroom building. b. SUNFLOWER SEEDS OR ANY SHELLED NUTS ARE PROHIBITED ANYWHERE IN THIS COMPLEX.
