The Mississippi Valley NIT is a great early tournament with high competition to get your team ready for the 2008 season. This year the tournament is during the weekend of April 26th and 27th 2008 for ages ranging from 9U to 14U. The Mississippi Valley NIT gives every team entered a chance to receive high USSSA points for state and national tournaments and earn a national USSSA tournament bid. The top two teams that have not yet received a national tournament bid will receive a bid to the largest and most competitive national tournament (USSSA). The tournament is hosted at 3 of the best complexes in the Quad City area Sheridan Meadows Complex in Eldridge Iowa (just minutes north of Davenport Iowa) the newly built Lancer Court Diamonds in Eldridge Iowa and the Heat Complex in Davenport Iowa. Sheridan Meadows has 7 baseball diamonds 2 with lights. The facilities are really nice and the diamonds are perfect size for youth competitive baseball. The 9u and 10u diamonds are 200 feet to the fences and the 11u diamonds vary between 230 and 270 feet. Lancer Court Diamonds and a Sheridan Meadow Diamond (w/ lights) are for the 13u & 14u groups and the diamonds are 290-300' all the way around. The Heat Complex is going to be for the 12u teams. These diamonds are the ones that can be seen on this website above. They are the top of the line diamonds. There are only 12 teams limited to each age so enter early. UPDATED!! The 12u - 14u age groups are going to be AA / A only while the 9u - 11u are going to be open divisions & organizations that enter more than 1 team from the organization remove $25.00 off each teams fee.
