AL USSSA is pleased to announce that the Alabama State Games will now be afiliated with USSSA of Alabama. Also this is an NIT and will be worth 2x points. The Alabama Sports Festival or Alabama State Games are an olympic style event with multiple sports at multiple venues. There is an ellaborate parade of athletes that will be held Friday night at the Civic Center in Birmingham. All participants at the opening ceremonies get a free state games t-shirts participation is limited to only AL teams. Gold Silver and Bronze medals will be awarded to the players on the top 3 teams. This is a truly one of kind event that your kids will remember forever. If you do not plan to attend a world series this is definitely an event to consider as your final tournament for the summer. Games will likely start Friday morning to allow us to participate in the opening ceremonies and still accommodate all the teams. There will be seperate Major/AAA (Open Division) and an AA/All-Star (AA Division) tournaments. Call or email Scottie Mobley at 256-651-1686 or s.b.mobley@comcast.net for more information. The Sports Festival web page will be up shortly. Numbers of teams are limited so register early for this event. If you sign up and pay by 6/19/07 you get a free doz baseballs. For entrys after this date a late fee of $25 will be added and no balls are given.
