TOURNAMENT RULES Playing Rules: Tournament will be played using USSSA Rules with the following exceptions. Rosters: No Roster limit 15 player awards maximum. Prior to your first pool play game your entry fee must be paid a certificate of insurance must be presented and the head coach must sign the official roster that the tournament director has printed out from the USSSA Website. The game will not start if either team has not done this THE TIME WILL START AT GAME TIME SO GET THIS DONE FIRST. Only USSSA Balls are to be used at the tournament. Each team must supply one new and one used USSSA ball for each game. Please have your players get the foul balls. Balls will be for sale at the tournament for $5 each. Pitching distance –12U – 40 feet; 14U 16U 18U - 43 Feet. If ejected a coach must sit out next game. Tie-breaker will begin at the top of the 8th inning or after time has expired. Run-Rule: 12 after 3 10 after 4 8 after 5 6 after 6. Time-Limit: Time limits for pool games will be 1 hour 15 minutes finish the inning determine a winner no ties in pool play. Time limit in bracket games is the same 1 hour 15 minutes finish the inning. If during the tournament weather becomes an issue time limits may be adjusted. Keep the game moving 5 pitches in between innings or one (1) minute whichever comes first have your players hustle on and off the field. Ties in Pool Play will be decided by: a. Head to head competition if two teams are tied and they have played each other. b. If two teams are tied and have not played each other or more than two teams tied we will use the run differential between teams that are tied. We will ADD ALL runs scored in all games and SUBTRACT all runs allowed in all games to arrive at the differential. c. Coin Toss Protests to be handled on the field by the UIC of that site a tournament official and the Umpire who made the call there will be a $50 protest fee to be returned if the protest is upheld. Coin toss for home/visitors will be at home plate before the game begins. Home team will be the official scorebook. Both teams should check the umpires score card after the game. AT CLEVELAND HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL COMPLEX and WITHIN 60 FT. OF RIO RANCHO HS FIELD#1 – NO SEEDS ALLOWED - ANY AND ALL SHELLS FROM ANY TYPE OF NUT IS PROHIBITED. PENALTY IF YOU YOUR PLAYERS OR YOUR FANS ARE CONSUMING THEM AT THESE FIELDS YOU WILL BE ASKED TO THROW AWAY THE SEEDS OR TAKE THEM BACK TO YOUR VEHICLE IF YOU DO NOT DO SO YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE COMPLEX THIS COULD RESULT IN A $100 FINE TO YOUR TEAM FOR EACH OCCURENCE. THE SHELLS ARE DETRIMENTAL TO THE TURF FIELDS AND THE ONLY WAY THESE CAN BE REMOVED FROM THE FIELDS ARE ONE AT A TIME AND WE DO NOT HAVE THE TIME OR THE DESIRE TO DO THAT. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THIS IS A FAMILY ENVIRONMENT AND INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR WILL NOT BE TOLERATED AND YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE. NO SMOKING ALLOWED AT EITHER COMPLEX – E-CIGS ARE NOT ALLOWED NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ALLOWED AT EITHER COMPLEX – IF YOU ARE CAUGHT DRINKING ALCOHOL YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE AND NOT RETURN FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE TOURNAMENT. IF NECESSARY THE POLICE WILL BE CALLED.
