| Come to Amarillo for one of the longest running events in this area The Budweiser Memorial Day Clasiic in Amarillo Tx 5/25-5/26. This year the winner in each division will get $250.00 toward a tournament of their choice and the runner up will receive $150 towards a tournament of their choice if we have at least 20 teams in the division. The MVP in all 3 divisions will receive a $200 Visa card. We will have nice shirts for 15 players on the champion and runner up teams and the teams will receive a trophy they can be proud to present to their sponsor. WE WILL RUN THE EVENT AS OPEN & REC. OPEN IS FOR ALL TEAMS AND REC IS FOR E TEAMS ONLY. WE WILL LOOK AT ALL ROSTERS THAT MUST BE FINALIZED ONLINE BY MIDNIGHT ON TUESDAY 5/28 OR THE TEAM WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY MOVED TO THE COMPETTITIVE DIVISION. WE WILL MOVE E TEAMS TO COMPETTITIVE IF WE FEEL THAT THEY HAVE PLAYERS THAT PLAY COMPETTITIVE BALL. We are making it simple for all teams to sign up for our Amarillo tournaments. Email amarillosoftballtournaments@hotmail.com and state which event your team wants to enter and we will register you. The manager listed on USSSA is the only person who can make this request. Of course you can still register online through the USSSA system as well. We will continue to allow all teams to pay their entry fee at team check in before their 1st game. If a team doesn't show up they will be responsible for the full entry. If that happens the team will have 7 days to get the full entry to the director or the team's roster will be suspended for one year and possibly longer. The deadline to enter or be removed from an event is always by 5pm on Tuesday before the event. Your team has to be registered with USSSA by this date as well AND ROSTERS MUST BE ON USSSA FOR US TO CHECK. All of our events are the traditional 3GG format. Teams can hit their own USSSA stamped ball. We will continue to use the bucket behind home plate as a method to eliminate tampering with softballs. All bats from 2013 forward must be the new USSSA stamped slow pitch 1.20 bats. All Amarillo tournaments except for state will be separated into 2 divisions. The recreation division will have ZERO HOMERUNS. If a team hits a homerun it will be an out and ends the inning. If they hit a second homerun it will forfeit the game. The competitive division will be allowed to hit 6 homeruns instead of the 2 that's allowed in the USSSA national rule for C play. We will be using the 2 man umpire system for all tournaments. The tournament cost $220.00 and teams can bring payment to check in. The event will take place Saturday and Sunday at one of the Amarillo softball complexes. Alcohol won't be allowed inside the complexes but we are still going to allow participants to have it outside the gates. We will use the bucket behind home plate where both teams will be required to provide 2 game balls per game. Umpires will use balls out of bucket randomly.
